The Name Game.......

Well, as you’ve read previously, we decided to name our Little Prince, Carter. We have just been trying to find a middle name that we were both happy with. Every day I text Nick a name suggestion from work, and he says either he likes it, it’s ok, or not at all. His suggestions have just been terrible, sad but true.

Last night we were at my parents along with my mom’s best friend and we were sitting at the table having dessert when Nick suggests that we use the middle name that I suggested yesterday as the baby’s first name because he liked it better! Both my mom and her best friend chime in that they like the new name better too! I am at this point side-eyeing Nick from across the room so hard that I felt as if my eyes would pop out of my head. My mom noticed this and makes a comment that they all better lay off the name topic, but it continues. They even got a pen and paper and started to write out what our Christmas cards would look like!!! WTF!?!? I am ready to KILL Nick at this point.

I do like the middle name, but I was set on Carter since I got my BFP, and I know that it is both mine and Nick’s baby and that we need to decide as parents what to name our baby, but I really didn’t think he’d spring this on me!
I don’t know how I really feel about the new name, and there are a few reasons why I don’t know about using it as a first name. Most important though is that DS #1’s name is Nikolas…my husband’s name is Nicholas…and everyone seems to think that we should name this little one Nico. I am ok with it as a middle name, but to have a Nikolas and a Nico? I don’t know how I feel about that, does it sound funny? Are they too close? Everyone last night seems to think that they are entirely different names, and that it would work since so many people name their kids matching names (sorry, but I am not a fan of this). Carter Nico was my suggestion, and I do like it, but Nick wants his name to be Nico Carter now. Grrrrrr….what to do, what to do…I want to compromise with Nick, I don’t want to be a spoiled brat that thinks that since I am carrying the baby I should be able to name him whatever I please, but I just don’t know.
I’m posting a poll, please vote!!!!!! I need some opinions. The name will most likely, 100% be one of the two suggested, so I’m not asking for new names, just which one sounds better ;) Please help, I’ve been going crazy since last night!
